Job summary

CDM Recruitment is seeking a Production Electrician to join our manufacturing team in Cramlington, focusing on electrical build and wiring of Air Handling Units (AHUs).

You will read and interpret electrical drawings to install control panels, lighting, isolators and related components, ensuring high quality, safe installations and adherence to 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. The role is a full-time on-site position within a collaborative production environment.

Qualifications

Production Electrician - Air Handling Units

Location: Cramlington

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-1:00pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Production Electrician to join our manufacturing team, working on the electrical installation and wiring of Air Handling Units (AHUs).

The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical build and wiring of AHUs, including control panels, lighting, isolators and associated electrical components. You will work from electrical drawings and wiring diagrams to ensure installations are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Wiring and installation of electrical control panels.
• Electrical wiring of Air Handling Units and associated equipment.
• Installation and wiring of lighting systems within AHUs.
• Installation and wiring of electrical isolators and associated components.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Carrying out cable routing, termination and connection work.
• Testing and fault-finding electrical installations where required.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant electrical regulations.
• Working safely and maintaining good housekeeping within the production environment.
• Working closely with other members of the production and engineering teams to meet build schedules and quality requirements.
• Identifying and reporting any electrical issues, defects or discrepancies.

Essential Requirements

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification is essential.
• Previous experience as an electrician, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience wiring electrical panels and control systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good understanding of electrical installation, cable termination and testing.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good understanding of electrical health and safety requirements.

Desirable Experience

Experience working with Air Handling Units, HVAC equipment, control panels or industrial electrical systems would be advantageous, although not essential.
