Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Clevedon is seeking Skilled Electrical Operatives to support the production line with electrical build and wiring before testing.

You will read schematics, wire cabinets, assemble looms, and perform terminations while maintaining 5S standards and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Multiple shifts available with weekly or monthly pay, plus holiday entitlement and opportunities for progression within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical wiring or assembly.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong crimping and cable termination skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Electrical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and components beneficial.
• Experience within a manufacturing or production environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Wiring cabinets, assembling looms, and completing small electrical assemblies to spec.
• Carry out panel wiring and electrical interconnections.
• Build wiring looms and harnesses to specification.
• Perform wire and cable termination, including high-quality crimping.
• Install electrical plates, components, and devices.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and layout diagrams.
• Repair and replace wiring and electrical components as required.
• Complete production and build documentation.
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work area.

Skilled Electrical Operatives Needed Clevedon

Location: Clevedon, North Somerset, BS21

Transport: Own transport required

Pay: Weekly or monthly

Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata

Shift Options

• Condensed Contract (34.5 Hrs): Fri-Sun 12:00-#####:30, £39.02/hr, Contract: ASAP 20th December, Holiday: Accrued and paid at the end of the contract.
• AM Ongoing (37.5 Hrs): Mon-Thu 06:00-14:15, Fri 11:30-?£19.94/hr, Temporary ongoing, £250 gift card after 4-month probation, £500 after 12 months, Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata.
• PM Ongoing (37.5 Hrs): Mon-Wed 14:30-00:30, Thu 14:30-00:00, Fri non-working, £21.68/hr, Temporary ongoing, £250 gift card after 4-month probation, £500 after 12 months, Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata.

About the Role

Pertemps are currently recruiting Skilled Electrical Operatives on behalf of Edwards Vacuum, based in Clevedon. This role will support the production line by carrying out electrical build and wiring activities prior to testing. Duties include:

• Wiring cabinets, assembling looms, and completing small electrical assemblies to the required specification and quality standards.
• Carry out panel wiring and electrical interconnections.
• Build wiring looms and harnesses to specification.
• Perform wire and cable termination, including high-quality crimping.
• Install electrical plates, components, and devices.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and layout diagrams.
• Repair and replace wiring and electrical components as required.
• Complete relevant production and build documentation.
• Follow build notes and instructions provided by the Team Leader.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
• Carry out rework, corrections, and modifications when required.
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work area.
• Use hand tools and lifting equipment safely.
• Identify and report issues with materials, documentation, or assembly.
• Support other production areas and roles when required.
