Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Production Controller to support the Defence Technology Hub, coordinating production and supply chain activities across the UK and Europe. You’ll help manage materials, components, and manufacturing progress to ensure high-quality, reliable outcomes for customers in a defence context.

You will work closely with production, engineering, programme management and procurement teams, maintaining build standards, tracking lifecycle data and supporting bids with cost

Qualifications

• Experience in production, manufacturing, engineering or supply chain environments.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
• Confident communicator capable of building trusted relationships with colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of defence or aerospace standards is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain system build standards for production activities.
• Procure, kit, and load parts to support manufacturing and assembly requirements.
• Coordinate programme builds within the Technology Hub workshop and with approved subcontractors.
• Monitor component shortages, expedite deliveries, and support production targets.
• Assess new suppliers and evaluate existing supplier performance to maintain quality and delivery standards.
• Maintain cradle-to-grave design lifecycle trackers and provide production cost information to support bids.

As a Production Controller in our Defence Technology Hub team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of specialist equipment and support contracts across the UK and Europe. You'll help coordinate production activities, manage supply chain processes, and support the delivery of solutions that have a positive impact for our customers.

Working closely with production, engineering, programme management, and supply chain teams, you'll help maintain the smooth flow of materials, components, and manufacturing activities. Your work has purpose, helping to create impactful solutions that support important defence capabilities while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and service.

What you'll do as a Production Controller
