Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a highly organised Production Coordinator at Ketton Cement Works to coordinate fuels, raw materials, compliance activities and reporting, enabling safe, efficient plant operation and progress toward sustainability targets.

You will work with operations, suppliers and senior management to drive cost efficiency, waste reduction, and continuous improvement, with Lean Six Sigma and environmental, safety and IMS standards guiding daily decisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience within the cement manufacturing industry at supervisory or management level.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work hours that meet business requirements.
  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • IEMA qualification.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating fuel and raw material procurement, stock control, and supplier management.
  • Monitoring production requirements to ensure continuity of plant operations.
  • Managing operational waste storage, disposal activities, and associated budgets.
  • Forecasting and reporting budget requirements for purchased materials.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Developing systems and processes to improve material handling, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
  • Managing monthly and annual operational reporting, including data submission through corporate systems.
  • Leading and supporting compliance with environmental, safety, and operational management systems.
  • Maintaining safety records, risk assessments, audits, incident reporting, and corrective action plans.
  • Acting as the key Operations contact during internal and external IMS audits.
  • Managing site security performance and supporting traffic management compliance across the site.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support Heidelberg Materials’ 2030 Sustainability targets.

Heidelberg Materials is looking for a highly organised and proactive Production Coordinator to join our Operations team at our Ketton Cement Works. This is a key position responsible for coordinating fuels, raw materials, compliance activities, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to support the safe and efficient running of the plant. This role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in plant performance, sustainability objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within one of the UK’s leading cement manufacturing facilities.

About the Role

As Production Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous supply and effective management of fuels, raw materials, and operational resources required to maintain production. You will work closely with operational teams, suppliers, contractors, and senior management to improve efficiency, maintain compliance, and support the delivery of the site’s sustainability targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating fuel and raw material procurement, stock control, and supplier management.
  • Monitoring production requirements to ensure continuity of plant operations.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a motivated individual with strong organisational skills, operational awareness, and a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Experience within the cement manufacturing industry at supervisory or management level.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Good knowledge of large-scale processing plant operations and equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems such as SAP, Intelex, Entropy, or similar.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility to work hours that meet business requirements.
  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • IEMA qualification.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience.
