Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a proactive Allocator/Planner to meet customer and business requirements in a cost-effective, timely manner. You will supervise quarry activities, coordinate with suppliers and contractors, and ensure efficient use of labour, plant and material resources.

The role requires 1 year in a customer sales/service/operations/transport setting, excellent communication, and GCSEs (Maths/English) at Grade C or higher.

• Essential: Excellent communication skills.
• Essential: Allocator cycle knowledge and understanding.
• Essential: Previous planning experience.
• Desirable: Knowledge of construction industry and products.
• Desirable: Knowledge of local and national geography.
• Experience: Must have 1 year customer sales/service/operations/transport role.
• Education/Qualification: Minimum of a Grade C at GCSE in Maths and English.
• Must have Excellent knowledge of SAP, Syncrotess systems and standard office packages.
• Must have Good communication and analytical skills with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
• Must also ideally have experience of working within a large company environment and achieving targets.

Responsibilities

• Liaise closely with work colleagues, Unit Manager, Suppliers and Contractors to ensure smooth and efficient running and programming of the plant for the production of aggregates.
• Provide continuous supervision of quarry activities to ensure efficient and cost-effective utilisation of labour, plant, and material resources.
• Meet customer and business requirements in a cost-effective, professional, and timely manner while delivering high levels of customer service.
• Develop and maintain CPD through training courses and seminars as determined by Heidelberg Materials.

Purpose of the role

To meet all customers’ and business requirements in the most cost-effective, professional, and timely manner whilst achieving a high level of customer service. To provide customers with a quality service for all sales enquiries, quotations, orders, deliveries, and associated administration in the most cost-effective way for Heidelberg Materials Quarry Products.

Key accountability

To ensure that the company Health and Safety Policy, Local Managers Rules and all Risk Assessments and Method Statements relating to work or works under your control are complied with.
