Job summary

Kingspan Technical Insulation in Basildon is seeking a Production Area Leader to run the production area, 40 hours per week, on a permanent basis.

You will coordinate with the Line Leader, operate machinery, monitor output, and drive improvements in productivity, scrap, KPI and OEE to ensure high-quality results across the production line.

Qualifications

• Experience in a factory/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow production schedules and instructions.
• Willing to be trained in multiple areas across departments.
• Basic understanding of touch screen technology.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment to required standards.
• Manage day-to-day operation of the department/line.
• Set up machinery for production operations.
• Operate machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products.
• Monitor output and adjust machine settings to maintain productivity and quality.

• Ensure training and development of team members.

Job description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Production Area Leaderto join our Production team based at our Basildon site working 40hours per week on a permanent basis.

As a Production Area Leader the main purpose of your role will involve being responsible for the day to day running of the production equipment. You will be pro-active in, co-ordinating with the line leader in maintaining and improving upon; production, scrap, KPI’s and OEE figures, apply a hands on approach looking at improving all areas within the production environment.

Responsibilities of our Production Area Leaders

• Fully trained and be able to operate machinery and equipment to the required standards.
• Managing/performing the day-to-day operation of the department/ line.
• Set up machinery in preparation for production operations.
• Operate machinery to fabricate, manufacture, assemble, or move products.
• Monitor output and adjust machine settings within scope of role to maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Adjust machine as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production,
• Manage and assist in the performing of scheduled cleaning duties and basic maintenance activities.
• Supporting Line leader in supervising, training, developing and managing the team.
• Ensuring performance is achieved and maintained through the training & development of team members

What we are looking for in our Production Area Leader:

You will have:

• Previous experience working in a factory/ manufacturing process environment.
• Able to follow instruction and production schedules.
• Flexible and willing to be trained in multiple areas whatever department and area this may be.
• Basic understanding of touch screen technology.
• Experience of working with various IT programs i.e. MS Word, Excel.
• Be a good team player with a “Can do attitude”.
• Management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to act quickly when problems arise.

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

• Accredited lift truck training.
• A professional qualification within the supervisory or management field (ILM Level3 or equivalent).
• A professional qualification within the health & safety field (IOSH managing safely or equivalent).
• Full Driving license.
