Job summary

Kingspan Insulation in Pembridge, Herefordshire, invites applications for a Maintenance Engineer. The role focuses on planned preventative maintenance and resolving quality issues, using diagnostic skills to identify faults in electrical and mechanical systems.

A strong emphasis on safety, lean improvement, and timely reporting is required. Applicants should have an apprentice background with City & Guilds/NVQ, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, PLC familiarity, and experience with CCMS.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained with City & Guilds and NVQ in engineering or equivalent.
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
• Carry out fault diagnosis (electrical and mechanical) - PLC experience is an advantage.
• Ensure repairs are executed in a timely cost effective manner.
• Minimise line downtime and maximise equipment productivity with all parties.
• Good level of computer skills and CCMS.
• Experience in hazardous areas and flammable environments.
• Basic fabrication skills.
• Understanding of planned and predictive maintenance.
• Understanding of pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
• Report feedback timely and effectively.
• Conduct RCA down to component level.
• Safety conscious with Health and Safety training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment focusing on planned preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults and diagnose PLC related issues.
• Ensure handovers between shifts are completed timely.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean activities.
• Provide timely reporting and feedback on issues found.

Job description

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer based at our Pembridge site in Herefordshire, working 42 hours on a Panama shift pattern.

You will be focusing on planned preventative maintenance and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems effectively. You should have experience of electrical and mechanical fault finding with an understanding of planned maintenance of plant and equipment. You will need to demonstrate experience of continuous improvement and lean programs.

To support smooth shift transitions, engineers are required to complete a brief handover (approximately 15 minutes before the start of a shift) with the outgoing/incoming shift.

Skills And Experience Required Of Our Maintenance Engineer

• Competitive salary of £51,147 per annum inclusive of 36% shift allowance (£17.22 per hour)
• Handover worked is paid at x1.5 overtime rate. This is additional pay to the basic hourly rate and shift allowance.
