Qualifications

Job description

We have a unique and pivotal opportunity to provide financial control and analysis for the Production and Logistics departments of Britain's Oldest Brewer.

As the Production and Logistics Finance Manager, you will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities. Your insights will drive performance improvements and strategic decisions, making a tangible impact on our business. You will chair monthly review meetings with key stakeholders, offering recommendations that shape our future, and collaborate closely with our supply chain team to ensure seamless alignment between operational and financial plans.

  • Working hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1-hour unpaid lunch
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage all budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities for Production and Logistics, including reporting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, variance analysis, and key performance metrics
  • Lead monthly review meetings with stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations
  • Create detailed finance reports to support business partners
  • Coordinate with the supply chain team to align operational and financial plans
  • Conduct financial appraisals for capital investments for Board approval
  • Participate in operational meetings, providing financial insights
  • Set internal transfer prices for manufactured products
  • Evaluate purchase price variances for input costs and purchased goods
  • Coordinate with external auditors for stock counts and compliance
  • Partner with third-party logistics providers to manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage HMRC excise and duty ledgers, ensuring compliance
  • Audit stock accuracy and value regularly
  • Support procurement processes for raw and packaging materials
  • Monitor utility consumption and provide forecast insights
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT
  • Experience in Consumer Finance, Retail, or Manufacturing is desirable but not essential
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems, SAP preferred
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, responsive to deadlines
