Production Accountant

Our client is a successful business that has seen rapid growth in the past 12 months. They are based in Southampton and do require travel to their offices.

Job Description

As the Production Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Tracking and analysing manufacturing costs, including materials, labour, and overhead.
• Preparing and managing production budgets and forecasts.
• Maintaining accurate inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Generating cost reports and analysing variances against budget.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close with relevant production entries.
• Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and audits.
• Monitoring capital expenditures and asset depreciation.
• Assisting in cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
• Using ERP systems for accurate financial and production data entry.
• Reconciliation of supplier invoices with POs and resolving discrepancies.
• Collaborating with operations, supply chain, and finance teams.
