Job summary

Apollo Research is seeking a Product Security Engineer to make Watcher safe to deploy at enterprises. You will own Watcher’s security posture, from product security standards to security conversations with customers, working closely with the Infra & Security team.

Based in London or San Francisco, you will lead security projects end to end, shape the security roadmap, and mentor teams on secure design, incident communications, and customer-facing security responses.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security roles in a hands-on capacity.
• Engineering mindset; build custom security solutions and automate.
• Direct experience with application, cloud, or product security.
• Experience in a security vendor or product company.
• Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team; mix hands-on work with strategy.
• Strong written communication for security questionnaires and incidents.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Watcher’s core security controls: IAM, cloud security, endpoint management, and incident response.
• Build paved roads that make the secure path the default.
• Advocate for security practices and clearly communicate decisions.
• Evaluate vendors, make build-vs-buy calls, assess vendor security posture.
• Lead major security projects end to end.
• Own security questionnaires, whitepapers, and incident communications.
• Define and shape Watcher’s security roadmap with Infra & Security teams.
• Join customer/prospect calls to map security needs to threat models.
• Keep awareness of enterprise security tools and Watcher’s fit.
• Prioritize buyer-valued security improvements and feed into failure mode prioritization.
