Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Product Safety, System Safety or Safety Engineering.
• Experience in safety-critical engineering programmes.
• Ability to translate engineering needs into digital solutions and workflows.
• Knowledge of ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178C.
• Experience with safety tool integrations into toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Capture and analyse Product Safety needs and translate into digital solutions.
• Define digital workflows for safety analyses, requirements, and evidence.
• Support design and implementation of safety engineering tools (e.g., Ansys Medini).
• Define integration and traceability between safety analyses, requirements, models and verification information.
• Support integration of Product Safety with MBSE, Requirements Management and PLM environments.
• Develop proofs-of-concept and pilots for Digital Safety Engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with Safety and Engineering stakeholders to validate and deploy digital solutions.
• Contribute to digital standards, processes and governance for Product Safety.

Role - Product Safety Digital Solution Expert

Location - Reading, UK (Hybrid)

Lenght - 12 Months

My client is seeking a Product Safety Digital Solution Expert who will be responsible for supporting the definition and development of Digital Engineering solutions enabling Product and System Safety activities across complex aerospace and defence programmes. The role combines strong Product Safety engineering knowledge with expertise in digital engineering tools and processes, translating safety engineering needs into digital workflows, data models, tool integrations, and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture and analyse Product Safety engineering needs and translate them into digital solutions.
• Define digital workflows supporting safety analysis, safety requirements, and safety evidence.
• Support the design and implementation of safety engineering tool solutions, including Ansys medini analyze.
• Define integration and traceability between safety analyses, requirements, system models, and verification information.
• Support integration of Product Safety with MBSE, Requirements Management and PLM environments.
• Develop and support proofs-of-concept and pilots for Digital Safety Engineering solutions.
• Work with Safety and Engineering stakeholders to validate and deploy digital solutions.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in Product Safety, System Safety or Safety Engineering.
• Experience working within complex and safety-critical engineering programmes.
• Strong knowledge of Product/System Safety Engineering.
• Practical experience with Ansys medini analyze or equivalent safety tools.
• Knowledge of safety analysis and safety requirements.
• Understanding of Systems Engineering and engineering lifecycle processes.
• Ability to translate engineering needs into digital solutions and workflows
• Knowledge of ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-178C
• Experience with DOORS Next.
• Experience with Cameo/Rhapsody and MBSE environments.
• Experience integrating safety tools with requirements and engineering toolchains.
