Role: Product Development Technologist

Location: Gloucester, United Kingdom

Our client, a leader in botanical research & development, is seeking a Product Development Technologist to develop high-quality flavour/taste extraction processes for the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, refine, and scale up botanical extraction techniques to maximize yield, quality, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product teams to create botanical formulations from concept to launch.
  • Conduct hands-on trials to test and improve extraction methods.
  • Ensure extracts meet purity, potency, and regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, EFSA, etc.).
  • Work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners to enhance extraction processes.
Requirements:
  • Experience in an R&D role within botanical extraction, preferably with a focus on taste in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of solvent extraction, steam distillation, cold pressing, or related technologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of flavour chemistry and botanical extracts for food, beverages, and nutraceuticals.
  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in a related field such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Food Science is desirable but not essential.
