Product Development Technologist

Location: Hertfordshire

Our client, a leader in botanical research & development, is seeking a Product Development Technologist to develop high-quality flavour/taste extraction processes for the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, refine, and scale up botanical extraction techniques to maximize yield, quality, and sustainability.
  2. Collaborate with R&D and product teams to create botanical formulations from concept to launch.
  3. Conduct hands-on trials to test and improve extraction methods.
  4. Ensure extracts meet purity, potency, and regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, EFSA, etc.).
  5. Work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners to optimize extraction processes.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in an R&D role within botanical extraction, preferably focusing on taste in the food industry.
  2. Knowledge of solvent extraction, steam distillation, cold pressing, or related technologies.
  3. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  4. Understanding of flavour chemistry and botanical extracts for food, beverages, and nutraceuticals.
  5. Degree (BSc/MSc) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related fields is desirable but not essential.
