Job summary

Owen Daniels seeks an experienced Product Design Engineer to join our client’s design team in Sutton, Surrey. You will modify and develop sheet metal and electromechanical products to meet customer requirements, producing practical, manufacturable solutions.

The role collaborates closely with manufacturing and shop-floor teams, focuses on manufacturability and sustainability, and involves CAD drafting and close interaction with customers to deliver bespoke variants.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD and mechanical design experience.
• Experience with sheet metal and/or machined components.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-turnaround manufacturing environment.
• Opportunity to buy or sell up to 5 days’ annual leave.

Responsibilities

• Modify and develop existing products to create bespoke variants in line with customer requirements.
• Design and develop sheet metal, machined and electromechanical components and systems.
• Produce accurate CAD designs and engineering drawings.
• Work with steel and aluminium, considering manufacturability and sustainability throughout the design process.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and shop-floor teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for production.
• Respond to customer requirements and provide effective design solutions.
