Global is seeking a Producer for Classic FM in London to craft exceptional audio content focused on classical music. In this role, you'll work alongside talented presenters to deliver engaging programs, contributing creatively to enhance audience connection via various platforms. Your role
Do you love crafting exceptional radio and audio? Are you passionate about classical music and storytelling? As a Producer at Classic FM, you’ll play a central role in shaping our on-air sound and supporting some of the biggest names in UK broadcasting.
Classic FM is the UK’s most popular classical music brand, reaching 4.7 million listeners every week and engaging with over 8.5 million followers across social media. As we continue to evolve and grow, we’re looking for a creative, confident, and collaborative producer to help us deliver content that connects with audiences on-air, online and on-demand.
You’ll work across a variety of programmes – from weekday daytime to weekend favourites and special projects – helping to deliver outstanding content that entertains, informs and inspires.
Key Responsibilities
Programme production (70%): You’ll be responsible for producing a range of programmes, working closely with presenters to craft high-quality content that reflects the Classic FM brand. You’ll ensure every show sounds polished, engaging and true to our station’s tone and standards.
Talent support & development (20%): You’ll play a key role in supporting Classic FM’s presenters, helping them deliver their best work on air. From briefing and scripting to providing creative input and feedback, you’ll helping our presenters thrive in both live and pre-recorded settings.
Content development (10%): You’ll contribute creative ideas to team planning sessions and play an active role in developing new content strands, features and programming moments. Working with our digital and social teams, you’ll also help bring Classic FM’s content to life beyond the radio – connecting with our online audience to promote the programmes you produce.

What Success Looks Like
In your first few months, you’ll have:
Produced a variety of Classic FM programmes to a high standard
Built strong relationships with presenters, producers and colleagues at Global
Demonstrated confidence with Zetta, GSelector and Adobe Audition
Contributed to wider content planning with creative and constructive ideas
Shown a developing understanding of classical music and the Classic FM audience
Supported digital and social activity to enhance your programmes’ reach and engagement
What You’ll Need
Experience producing high-quality radio or audio content, ideally with high profile ,
A clear understanding of how to engage a broad, mainstream audience with classical music.
Strong scriptwriting skills and an ability to tailor tone to presenter and audience
A good ear for editorial and musical quality, with an ability to edit, structure and finesse programmes
Familiarity with playout systems (Zetta or similar), music scheduling tools (GSelector), and studio production
Working knowledge of Adobe Audition or similar audio editing software
A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a team environment
An interest in and developing knowledge of classical music
Understanding of Ofcom’s Broadcasting Code and the ability to uphold editorial standards.
