Job summary

UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our Commercial team. You will manage end-to-end procurement activities across a diverse portfolio, supporting projects and programmes, and ensure value for money while complying with public procurement regulations.

The role requires experience in tendering, supplier negotiations, contract management, and hands-on use of e-procurement portals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering public sector procurement activities.
• Experience with supplier negotiations and bid evaluations.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and contract management.
• Experience using e-procurement portals and electronic contract systems.
• Ability to analyse commercial information to achieve value for money.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for projects up to £1 million.
• Provide commercial advice to Project Managers and Contract Project Managers.
• Evaluate tenders and support contractual claims and disputes.
• Lead tender discussions and supplier engagement activities.
• Support contract management throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop procurement systems, databases and reporting tools.
• Deliver guidance and training on procurement processes.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Mentor Procurement Apprentices and Graduates.
• Contribute to category management strategies and policy development.
