The University of the Arts London (UAL) is ranked 2nd in the world for Art and Design in the 2025 QS World University Rankings. It welcomes over 18,000 students from more than 130 countries. Established in 2004, UAL comprises 6 esteemed Arts, Design, Fashion, and Media colleges founded in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Located within the historic Central Saint Martin's college, just a 10-minute walk from King's Cross Station, the university offers a vibrant, modern working environment. Staff are expected to work in the office approximately 50% of the time, mainly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Reporting to the Procurement Lead, the Procurement Operations Officer will manage operational procurement processes, systems, and practices, engaging with stakeholders to support below-threshold purchasing, particularly within the University's Colleges. The role includes providing reporting, data analysis, business intelligence, and insights to inform procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting best practices to support the university's accreditations and ethical commitments.

About you
  • Experience working in procurement within a complex environment.
  • Professional qualification such as CIPS / NVQ level 4 or above (achieved or in progress - desirable).
  • Knowledge of procurement practices including sourcing, contract management, supplier relationship management, frameworks, and UK procurement regulations.
  • Experience managing high-volume, low-value spend.
  • Knowledge of eProcurement, ERP/Finance systems, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent MS Office skills; experience with Excelerator and PowerBI is desirable.
  • Experience managing large financial and statistical datasets and creating presentations related to procurement.
  • Ability to build successful internal stakeholder relationships.
Benefits include:
  • Commitment to your continuous personal development and training, including support for CIPS progression, in an environment that encourages excellence, creativity, and diversity.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions currently at 14.9%.
  • 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus 2 additional days off for volunteering.
  • Discounted medical insurance with BUPA, covering consultations, diagnostics, inpatient and outpatient treatments, mental health support, therapies, and digital GP services.
