Job description

We are working with our client, a renowned ship owner in London, to assist in the search for a procurement professional to join their team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring that spares and parts of a high calibre are sourced in the most cost-effective and timely way.
  2. Involvement in the full remit of procurement from providing vessels with purchasing guidance.
  3. Finding the most effective/efficient quotes.
  4. Placing orders and using the procurement systems.
  5. Managing feedback from those onboard and maintaining good relationships with the suppliers.

Requirements:

  1. At least three years of experience within marine procurement, ideally from the owners side.
  2. An engineering background.
  3. Confident communicator with a proactive approach.
  4. A proven track record of successful negotiations.
  5. Commercially minded with a strong awareness of the marine procurement market.
  6. Experience in marine category management is a distinct advantage.
