Job summary

ePropelled, Coventry, UK, seeks a Senior Technical Buyer to lead UK NPI sourcing from prototype to volume production, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.

This hands-on role offers ownership, problem solving and close teamwork across the UK, US and India, with 4 days in the office and 1 day at home. Strong procurement, supplier management and ERP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Technical Buyer in engineering/manufacturing
• Experience with NPI or new product development procurement
• Knowledge of machined parts, fabrication & raw materials; PCBAs/PCBs/components preferred
• Ability to read drawings,BOMs and specs; resolve technical queries with engineers
• Strong negotiation and supplier management; cost/lead time focus
• ERP/MRP experience; reliable procurement records and process improvement
• Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems and supplier quality processes

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement for new motor and controller projects, coordinating sourcing plans and prototype requirements
• Select suppliers from approved base; identify capability gaps and assess new sources
• Manage RFQs, compare quotations and negotiate pricing and lead times
• Raise and manage purchase orders; secure delivery commitments and expediting
• Identify supply risks early and communicate actions to Programme team
• Ensure procurement reflects correct drawings, BOMs and specs; coordinate changes
• Build supplier relationships and drive delivery performance and cost reductions
• Maintain ERP data and support wider supply chain activities
