Procurement Lead – Raw Materials & Packaging

A newly created role for a commercially-minded Buyer/Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager to take full ownership of the packaging and raw materials categories. You’ll steer strategy, mitigate risks, and manage agreements with suppliers to support the growth of the business.

What you'll do:

1. Own and evolve the category plan, presenting insights and strategy to senior leadership.
2. Understand the risks, trends, and supply chain dynamics.
3. Develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver results in the short, mid, and long term.
4. Negotiate and manage contracts that drive value, reduce costs, and support the organisation's sustainability goals.
5. Collaborate with the NPD team to establish new suppliers as needed.
6. Build strong supplier relationships and set clear expectations internally and externally.

Skills You’ll Bring:

• Strong analytical skills, confident working with data from multiple sources and presenting insights clearly.
• Advanced Excel skills, including formulas like INDEX, VLOOKUP, MATCH, SUMIFS, pivot tables, and financial modelling.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communicator with stakeholder management experience across all levels.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing tenders and RFQs.
• Hands-on experience in building and owning category plans and running end-to-end sourcing processes.
• A proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude.
• Procurement experience in FMCG or manufacturing within the consumer sector.
• CIPS qualification or working towards it? Great — but not essential.
