We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our high-performing team and lead sourcing activity within the Professional Services category across the Royal London Group.

Taking a Category Management approach, this role will identify strategic opportunities to drive down costs in delivering third-party services, mitigate risk, and improve service performance in third-party relationships.

Acting as a trusted procurement business partner, this role will engage directly with a wide range of internal and external senior stakeholders, ensuring that Procurement collaboratively delivers innovation, value, strategic thinking, and customer-focused solutions aligned with Royal London's Purpose and strategic outcomes.

About the role

1. Provide commercial leadership for medium-spend, medium-risk sourcing and contracts within the Professional Services category, focusing primarily on Consultancy.
2. Support specific projects and sourcing activities across all three business units under the guidance of the Senior Strategic Procurement Manager for Professional Services and Major Projects.
3. Create new opportunities across third-party spend to reduce costs and risks while delivering value swiftly.
4. Lead negotiations for contracts and sourcing arrangements up to £5m in value.
5. Design, lead, and implement category-leading sourcing arrangements for designated spend categories, with technical expertise in Professional Services.

About you

1. Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing, especially within Professional Services and preferably in the Finance or Asset Management sectors.
2. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
3. Results-oriented team player.
4. Strong negotiation skills with comprehensive knowledge of contract law.
5. Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to assess and mitigate commercial risks.
6. Proven planning and organizational skills, with a track record of completing tasks effectively.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Maintain a professional and ethical representation of the team.
9. Degree and CIPS qualification, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
