A leading public sector client in Scotland is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager for a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing contracts, and ensuring value for money in procurement decisions. Ideal candidates will have extensive public sector procurement experience and knowledge of UK procurement legislation, with CIPS qualification preferred.

Company Introduction
My Scottish based Public Sector client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager on an initial 6-month contract
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
You will be required to establish, influence and maintain effective contracts both internally and externally with project stakeholders and key suppliers.
1. Responsibility for the development, implementation and deliverance of the procurement work-stream required to deliver the corporate plan in accordance with my client's procurement strategy.
2. Develop and manage a tender wave plan applying the principles of the Scottish Government procurement journey.
3. Prepare and submit recommendation papers for appraisal and approval within an agreed governance structure.
4. Initiate and lead cost reduction and value add initiatives across my clients projects ensuring that value for money and best value efficiency are achieved in all procurement decisions.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Extensive experience in Procurement within a Public Sector organisation.
2. Knowledge of contract law, International and UK procurement legislation.
3. Experience in contract and supplier management
4. Project management skills
Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:
1. CIPS qualified or working towards qualification
2. Knowledge of current public sector procurement best practice particularly Scottish public procurement regulations
3. Knowledge of ePurchasing Cards
