Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to support purchasing, supply chain and logistics in a fast-paced technical environment. The role is hybrid based in Tyne & Wear, UK, and involves coordinating materials, deliveries and freight movements.

You will source suppliers, raise purchase orders, manage shipping documentation and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and improve inventory processes.

Qualifications

• Experience within Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Logistics.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience coordinating deliveries and freight movements.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial or technical sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of materials, equipment and services.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and raise purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate UK and international freight movements.
• Manage shipping and customs documentation.
• Support project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Assist with inventory control, asset tracking and process improvements.
