Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is assisting a fast-paced engineering environment in Tyne & Wear to hire a Procurement & Logistics Coordinator. The role covers purchasing, supplier liaison and freight coordination in a hybrid work setup.

You will source suppliers, raise purchase orders, monitor deliveries and support project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment, with strong focus on process improvements and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or logistics.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience coordinating deliveries and freight movements.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial or technical sectors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of materials, equipment and services.
• Source suppliers, obtain quotations and raise purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate UK and international freight movements.
• Manage shipping and customs documentation.
• Support project teams to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Assist with inventory control, asset tracking and process improvements.
