Job summary

Caddy Group Limited is recruiting a Buyer to join our Sittingbourne-based team. You will manage procurement for construction materials, M&E equipment, and plant, ensuring timely deliveries and value across a varied project portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have construction procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work with Project Managers and site teams to meet programmes and budgets. This is a permanent, full-time role with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Buyer or Procurement Coordinator in Construction, M&E or Building Services.
• Knowledge of construction materials, equipment and procurement processes.
• Experience obtaining quotations, placing orders and liaising with suppliers.
• Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines and priorities.
• Experience using purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

• Procure construction materials, M&E equipment, plant and related supplies.
• Source quotations from suppliers and manufacturers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules.
• Raise and process purchase orders per project needs.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Coordinate deliveries to align with project programmes.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead times.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and site teams on procurement needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier data.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
• Resolve supply chain issues, including delays and shortages.
• Ensure purchasing aligns with budgets, specifications and procedures.
