Job summary

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a growing engineering SME to recruit a Procurement Coordinator on a permanent basis, based at their offices in Bridgwater. This is a hands-on purchasing role supporting project delivery and day-to-day business operations.

You will source goods and services, raise purchase orders, manage supplier relationships and expedite orders to ensure materials are available when required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, supply chain coordination or a similar administration role.
• Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, construction or technical environments is beneficial.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience using purchasing, ERP or business management systems accurately.

Responsibilities

• Review project bills of materials and purchasing requirements with project and engineering teams, ensuring quantities, specifications and required dates are understood.
• Identify suitable suppliers and obtain quotations in line with company procedures.
• Compare quotations based on price, lead time, quality, technical requirements and risk, highlighting significant differences or uncertainties.
• Prepare, raise and administer purchase orders through the appropriate approval process, ensuring all supporting information is complete.
• Maintain accurate procurement records covering quotations, orders, acknowledgements and delivery dates.
• Expedite suppliers for order acknowledgements, delivery commitments and progress, identifying late deliveries and potential shortages.
