Job summary

Astute People seeks a Project Engineer to lead technical delivery on multi-discipline projects at Bridgwater and related sites. The role connects engineering, procurement, production, installation and commissioning to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in electrical/control/mechanical engineering and have hands-on experience coordinating engineering work packages. This role offers progression towards project management within a nuclear/regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or equivalent in electrical/control/mechanical engineering.
• Experience coordinating engineering projects and technical work packages.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and technical documentation for delivery.
• Experience coordinating information, interfaces, supplier activity and milestones.
• Proactive, organised with attention to detail and ability to escalate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of technical coordination and day-to-day delivery of work packages.
• Develop and maintain delivery plans, schedules, logs, interfaces and change documentation.
• Review contracts, scopes and constraints to ensure understood delivery requirements.
• Coordinate interfaces between Engineering, Procurement, Production, suppliers and clients.
• Control technical information flow with correct approved documentation.
• Track readiness for technical reviews, inspections and go/no-go gates.
• Collaborate with engineers to resolve queries and obtain input.
• Monitor supplier/subcontractor progress and flag delays or omissions.
• Record deviations and non-conformances and assess impact on programme.
• Communicate delivery status to clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Maintain auditable project documentation including QA records.
• Identify potential scope changes or cost implications and raise to PM.
