Job Description:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced in-house contracts professional to support our firm's procurement service firmwide. You will work closely with our Procurement team and business stakeholders to review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial supplier agreements from initiation to execution, providing advice on related contractual matters. Collaboration with our Office of the General Counsel, Information Security team, and senior management is essential.
This role is based in Leeds or Manchester, with a flexible, hybrid working system combining office and remote work.

THE TEAM
Addleshaw Goddard's Procurement team manages end-to-end procurement processes across Manchester & Leeds, structured into Legal and Commercial sub-teams. Our holistic approach emphasizes strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management, fostering long-term partnerships and continuous process improvement. As the firm grows globally, managing local and international contracts and risks is crucial. You will contribute to shaping the team's strategy and delivery.

THE ROLE
● Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial supplier contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
● Collaborating with the Office of the General Counsel and Information Security teams for due diligence and risk management.
● Advising stakeholders, often at senior levels, on contractual and legal issues, highlighting risks.
● Identifying and mitigating legal risks, supporting procurement improvement initiatives.
● Keeping abreast of legislative changes, updating contracts, training teams, maintaining contract templates, and improving service delivery.

ABOUT YOU
You should:

  • Have at least 3 years of experience in commercial contracts within procurement.
  • Possess strong drafting, negotiation skills, and commercial awareness.
  • Be able to analyze issues and communicate implications clearly.
  • Be resilient, professional, and capable of handling conflict.
  • Have attention to detail, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
  • Ideally, have experience with data protection, IT contracts, and intellectual property in procurement.
