Job Title: Process Technologist

We are currently recruiting a Process Technologist to be based at our Blackburn site on a full-time, permanent basis.

Our NPD team is split into concept and process areas. We are seeking a talented Process Technologist to join our process team to help deliver innovative new products. If you have a passion for baking and product development, we want to hear from you!

You will be part of a close-knit team committed to providing excellent customer service. We are looking for someone who is proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic about their work. A self-starter, you will show energy and enthusiasm for the products you work on and thrive under pressure.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a food manufacturing business, preferably in bakery or with equivalent knowledge/experience. A food science-related qualification is preferred.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing the NPD process from concept handover to product launch, ensuring smooth transition and scale-up in production.
• Conducting factory trials and pre-production runs to ensure product consistency, quality, and successful first productions.
• Conducting necessary testing, including organoleptic reviews, to ensure product quality and safety.
• Working to critical paths to meet all deadlines.
• Documenting all trial outputs, adhering to food safety, quality standards, and customer requirements.
• Supporting the creation of customer and factory specifications, leading to accurate product labeling and specifications.
• Supporting relevant NPD meetings.
• Ensuring all NPD-related paperwork and samples are processed and available on time, meeting customer requirements.
• Engaging and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and retail partners, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
