Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our Esher Sewage Treatment team. You do not need a background in the Water industry. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas.

You will be part of the frontline operations team that covers the sewage treatment sites.

This role is an essential front-line role, which the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different, and you will be working in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks to ensure the essential functions of our wastewater treatment works operate, maintaining the supply to our customers and protecting the environment. This includes PPM of maintenance of equipment to support plant operation.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician
  1. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
  2. Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained.
  3. Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
  4. Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
  5. Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.

Base Location: Riverside – Esher - Surrey - KT10 8AU

Working Pattern: 38 Hours, Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby & overtime opportunities with additional payment.

We are looking for you to
  • Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them. You need to be disciplined, eager to learn, and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding but very rewarding.
  • Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, understanding the problem fully, and identifying the best solution to resolve it on the first attempt.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the team.
  • Be proactive, take the lead on site improvements, and communicate effectively.
  • Be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Have knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
  • Possess a full UK driver’s license.
