Job description

Job Opportunity: Process Technician at Thames Water

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on the important role of Process Technician at Thames Water, based at our Beckton Sewage Treatment Works.

As the successful candidate, you will work alongside a multiskilled team dedicated to delivering results and excellent service for our customers. Your responsibilities will include operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem-solving to ensure services are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This may involve planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support plant operation.

Location and Working Hours
  • Base Location: Beckton – IG11 0AD
  • 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 15:36
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on plant and equipment following company standards to enhance resilience.
  • Operate and clean plant and equipment, maintaining operational and health and safety standards.
  • Respond to reactive jobs following equipment failure.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and conduct safety and security checks.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
  • Willingness to undergo safety training.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards.
  • A full UK driving license is essential due to the role's nature.
Benefits
  • Starting salary from £27,500 per annum.
  • Comprehensive training provided.
  • Holiday entitlement of 24 days, increasing to 28 with service, plus bank holidays.
  • Generous paternity leave, including 4 weeks paid and 2 weeks unpaid.
  • Enhanced maternity leave: 26 weeks full pay, 13 weeks half pay.
