Job summary

QM Recycled Energy Ltd (QMRE) is seeking a vigilant Operations Technician to support the Pyrolysis Facility near Hoo, Rochester. You will help maintain high performance, safety, and environmental standards while assisting in engineering development and maintenance activities for the plant.

Key duties include following directions from senior technicians, prioritising tasks to meet schedules, and ensuring safe working practices, record keeping, and routine safety assessments.

Qualifications

• Safety first mindset and ability to work in hazardous environments
• Ability to supervise plant operations safely and report on trials
• Teamwork and independent work capability
• Flexible work patterns including on-call shifts
• Willingness to undertake training for equipment operation (e.g. forklift, COOSH, etc.)
• Familiarity with process and laboratory environments

Responsibilities

• Take direction from Senior Process Technician and Site Operations Manager on work and timelines
• Prioritise and complete tasks to keep plant schedules met
• Operate safely using SOPs, PPE and risk assessments, help develop safe methods of work
• Understand plant operation and SCADA control system
• Monitor progress and report status
• Support maintenance activities and keep accurate records (audits, inspections, calibration, data)
• Maintain stock levels using the stock management system and flag shortages or faults
• Contribute to engineering design and change management processes
• Participate in safety assessments (Hazop, risk assessments) and meetings
• Ensure clean, safe working environment and welfare areas
• Stand in for Senior Process Technician when required
