Based at Bourton-on-the-Water, this full-time Process Technician role with Pertemps Thames Water supports essential water treatment operations. Working as part of a close-knit crew, the post-holder carries out routine plant checks, monitors treatment processes, adjusts equipment and records readings to keep service standards high. A firm commitment to health and safety is vital, alongside strong communication skills for liaising with colleagues and contractors at every level. Candidates should be comfortable handling shifting priorities, since each shift brings fresh situations and technical problems to solve. The position starts at £28,335 annually, rising with proven ability and relevant experience. Training supports progression toward a greener, lower-carbon future.

You will be part of the frontline operations team that covers the picturesque Cotswolds with its main base at Bourton on the Water STW. The role is an essential front-line role, which the business simply cannot operate without you. Every day is different, you will be working in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks, to ensure the essential functions of our wastewater treatment works operate to maintain the supply to our customers and protect the environment.

Base Location : Bourton-on-the-Water STW - GL54 2PD. Working Pattern or hours : Monday-Friday 7:30-15:36, 38 hours per week including working on a call-out rota where you will receive additional payment.

What you’ll be doing as a Process Technician

• Ensuring our sites are running safely, efficiently and within permitted site specifications to protect the environment.
• You will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining equipment and reporting any defective items to ensure a swift repair or attempting a first-time fix where possible.
• You will be expected to take ownership of your own and colleagues' health and safety by escalating any concerns to your manager or resolving them yourself where possible and appropriate.
• Collating and reporting of data to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Once on the full working pattern you will be working 1 weekend every 6 weeks.

You do not need a background in the Water industry. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas, but you must be:

• Comfortable working outdoors, potentially in all weather conditions.
• Prepared to work within the company’s rota of a 7-day working week and participate on a standby rota.
• Part of a team that delivers excellent performance by understanding how you affect the overall mission of Thames Water.
• Have a good sense of humour, because of what you will be working with and not to be too squeamish.
• Adaptable, flexible, patient, reliable and self-motivated.
• Good with time management.
• Confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own.
• Keen to learn and operate complex processes with high-quality controls.
• Able to complete basic tasks on a computer e.g., be able to input site performance data and view their day's work via a hand-held device.

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience in delivering against challenging upper-quartile business targets and performance commitments.
