Job description

All Square Recruitment are working with an established and growing manufacturer in Chelmsford to recruit a Process & Production Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a background in manufacturing and continuous improvement to make a real impact on production performance, processes, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous improvement (CI) projects across production processes, layout, and workflow.
• Develop, update and manage work instructions and production documentation.
• Assist with quality investigations, including root cause analysis and 8D/PRR/ECR reports.
• Support tooling setup for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to introduce new processes and products.
• Deliver training and support to shop floor teams during production builds and process changes.
• Apply Lean manufacturing and 5S principles across the shop floor.

Key Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Previous experience in a process or production engineering role in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of Lean tools, CI methods, and shop floor operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to drive improvements independently.
