Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Process Operator to join the United Utilities team in the North West of England. Based at Brampton, you will support commissioning, optimisation and handover of process plants, working closely with engineers and site teams.

You will monitor, operate and maintain plant assets, perform routine checks and record data to ensure safe and compliant operations from day one. A practical, hands-on approach and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in water, wastewater, sludge treatment or similar operational environment.
• Practical understanding of operating process plant including pumps, screens, tanks, blowers and mixers.
• Ability to carry out process sampling, site testing and record operational data accurately.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements including COSHH and permits to work.
• CSCS card or equivalent site safety accreditation and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate wastewater and sludge treatment plant safely in accordance with approved methodologies.
• Carry out routine plant checks, site rounds and operational observations.
• Monitor process performance, alarms and equipment status; escalate as needed.
• Conduct process sampling and record data to support commissioning and compliance.
• Maintain accurate daily records and handover documentation.
