Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a Process Operator for a busy precision engineering environment in the UK. The role covers machine operation, component assembly, reshaping and finishing within a specialist manufacturing team delivering high-quality engineered products.

You will follow detailed drawings and procedures, complete accurate documentation and perform routine equipment checks while maintaining a safe, tidy workspace and contributing to on-time production targets.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated Process Operator to join a busy and expanding manufacturing environment producing high-precision components for the aerospace and power generation sectors.

This is a varied, hands-on role involving a combination of machine operation, component assembly, reshaping and finishing activities. Working within a specialist manufacturing team, you will play a key part in producing critical engineered products to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate specialist production machinery and equipment.
  • Carry out component assembly, reshaping and finishing processes.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, engineering drawings and quality procedures.
  • Complete production and inspection documentation accurately.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report any faults or issues.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to achieve production targets.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous manufacturing, production or engineering experience.
  • Experience operating machinery within a precision engineering environment would be advantageous.
  • EDM experience is beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience would be an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow processes and work instructions accurately.
  • Positive, proactive and reliable attitude.
  • Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
