Job summary

Reed Specialist Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join a busy manufacturing site producing high‑precision components for aerospace and power generation. You will set up and operate CNC machines and help ensure products meet exacting tolerances in a fast, quality‑driven environment.

You should have CNC experience (turning or milling), an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, and a disciplined approach to reading drawings and maintaining quality, safety and housekeeping.

• CNC machining experience with turning or milling.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Able to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Strong reading of engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join a busy and expanding manufacturing environment producing high-precision components for a range of demanding industries, including aerospace and power generation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working with CNC machinery, maintaining high quality standards, and contributing to the manufacture of precision-engineered products.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components.
• Work with a variety of CNC, manual and conventional machine tools.
• Complete production, quality and inspection documentation accurately.
• Conduct routine machine checks and report any issues.
• Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and safety.
• Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to achieve production targets.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with engineering drawings and specifications.

What We're Looking For

• Previous CNC machining experience (Turning, Milling or similar).
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Reliable, proactive and team-focused attitude.
