Job summary

Adepto Technical Recruitment Ltd is representing a Process Engineer role in Runcorn for a major chemicals manufacturer. The position provides technical support to site operations, develops process specifications for capital projects, and drives process optimisation across the plant.

Ideal candidates will hold a Chemical Engineering degree with 2–5 years’ process engineering experience in manufacturing, coupled with a strong focus on process safety and Chartered Engineer ambitions.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering.
• 2–5 years’ experience in process engineering, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Good practical site experience, including exposure to plant operations and troubleshooting.
• Interest in developing across projects, process safety and operational engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to health and safety.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status, or keen to achieve it.
• Experience in the chemical or major hazard industries would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to site operations, troubleshooting issues and improving plant performance.
• Develop process engineering specifications for capital projects and plant developments.
• Support process optimisation, plant trials and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to process safety, risk management and COMAH compliance.
• Work closely with operations, engineering and project teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable plant performance.
