Job summary

PureKat Consultancy in Haverhill is seeking a Process Development Scientist to join the client’s R&D team. You will design and run hands-on chemical process engineering experiments, develop practical approaches, set up and troubleshoot lab equipment, and apply process modelling to understand performance.

The role requires a degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline and hands-on experience with lab-scale process development.

Qualifications

Academic degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
Proven hands-on experience in laboratory-scale process development.
Experience setting up, operating and troubleshooting lab equipment.
Understanding of unit operations (mixing, heating, cooling, pumping, drying, separation).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Designing, planning and conducting hands-on chemical process engineering experiments.
Developing practical experimental approaches to investigate process performance.
Developing, modifying and troubleshooting experimental setups.
Setting up, operating and adapting laboratory equipment.
Identifying and resolving issues with equipment.
Developing and applying process models.
Using modelling approaches to investigate process behaviour.
Designing experimental programmes.
Supporting the development and implementation of Process Analytical Technology.
Analysing and interpreting experimental results.
Supporting the transition of laboratory-scale processes.
Maintaining high standards of laboratory safety, documentation and data integrity.
