Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a motivated Systems Administration Officer to join the Systems Administration Team. You will gain hands-on experience with business-critical systems and support HR, Payroll, Finance and other corporate services.

Working in a collaborative shared services environment, you will maintain data integrity, resolve system queries, and help deliver continuous service improvements while developing IT and customer-support skills.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
  • Clear communication skills and ability to engage with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Competence in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of IT systems and willingness to learn new processes.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of key business systems supporting HR, Payroll, Finance and other corporate services.
  • Maintain data integrity and respond to system queries from users.
  • Provide customer support and contribute to service improvements.
  • Help deliver timely processing and issue resolution.

Salary: £26,853 - £27,282 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

Working Hours:37 hours per week

About the Role

East Midlands Shared Services (EMSS) is looking for a motivated and customer‑focused Systems Administration Officer to join our Systems Administration Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in systems administration, business applications, data management, and customer support within a collaborative shared services environment.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely administration of key business systems supporting HR, Payroll, Finance, and other corporate services. You will contribute to maintaining data integrity, supporting users, resolving system queries, and helping deliver continuous service improvements.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in systems administration, business applications support, data management, or IT‑related service delivery.

About You
