Probate Solicitor - Private Client
Location: Taunton

This multi-office Westcountry practice are seeking a meticulous and client-focused Probate Solicitor to join their thriving Private Client team.

Based in Taunton, you'll handle a broad mix of probate matters from estate administration and inheritance tax to wills and estate planning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with solid technical expertise and a passion for helping clients navigate sensitive legal issues with confidence and care.

The Role

  • Manage a varied caseload of probate and estate administration files from start to finish
  • Advising on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents including wills and trust deeds
  • Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other stakeholders
  • Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and SRA standards
  • Delivering high-quality client care and fostering strong relationships
  • Supporting business development and networking initiatives


Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales (ideally 3+ years PQE, but all levels considered)
  • Solid experience in probate and estate administration
  • Excellent communication and client-handling skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Confidence working independently and managing deadlines
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) is a plus
