Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Epsom. The role focuses on patient flow, routine observations, and assisting with day-to-day treatment room activity within a friendly primary care team.

You will perform vitals like BP, pulse, and oxygen saturation, help with ECGs, phlebotomy (if trained), update patient records, and provide health promotion advice while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or NHS.
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation.
• Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
