Locum Ready is seeking a Locum Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to support a GP practice in Ascot. The role suits a proactive HCA who can assist the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery within a well-supported primary care environment. Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions available.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.
• Comfortable performing clinical observations.
• Excellent communication and patient interaction.
• Basic IT skills for clinical documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Observations (BP, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation).
• Support with treatment room procedures.
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained).
• Complete ECGs and assist with routine patient assessments.
• Provide lifestyle advice and health promotion.
• Update patient records in the clinical system.
• Assist clinicians with general tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
• Supporting with treatment room procedures
• Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
• Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
• Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
• Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
• Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required

Requirements

• Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
• Phlebotomy experience desirable
• Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
• Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
• Enhanced DBS
