Job summary

Portus Supported Housing in Swinton is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a hybrid team. You will support financial reporting, reconciliations and budgeting to drive accurate financial insights.

You will liaise with budget holders, manage rent and lease accounting duties, and help produce monthly management accounts and statutory reporting. The role offers up to £43,000 plus benefits and a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing monthly management accounts.
• Ability to reconcile funder income and expenditure with variance commentary.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and reconciliations for repairs, maintenance and Asset Management costs.
• Reconcile funder income and expenditure, providing regular variance analysis and commentary.
• Liaise with budget holders and departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage landlord rent, insurance payments, rent increases, accruals and prepayments.
• Support lease accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
• Produce monthly management accounts and variance commentary.
• Complete bank and treasury reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support statutory accounts, year-end audit and rent ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records, process documentation and reporting.
• Support the wider Finance team with queries and ad hoc tasks.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, KPIs and training requirements.
