Job summary

Portus Supported Housing is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its Swinton hybrid team. You will oversee financial reporting for repairs, asset management costs and rent-related accounting, delivering accurate monthly management accounts.

The role involves liaison with budget holders, funder reconciliations, cashflow forecasting and supporting year-end audits. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset is valued as you help drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.

Qualifications

• Proactive, self-motivated candidate with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial reporting and reconciliations for repairs, maintenance and Asset Management costs.
• Reconcile funder income and expenditure, providing regular variance analysis.
• Liaise with budget holders and departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage landlord rent, insurance payments, rent increases, accruals and prepayments.
• Support lease accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting.
• Produce monthly management accounts and variance commentary.
• Complete bank and treasury reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support statutory accounts, year-end audit and rent ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records, process documentation and reporting.
• Support the wider Finance team with queries and ad hoc tasks.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, KPIs and training requirements.
