Job summary

Harrods in Knightsbridge is seeking a Private Shopping Porter to support the movement, preparation and dispatch of luxury purchases behind the scenes.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will handle stock movements, returns and packing for dispatch, including international deliveries, while maintaining safe, efficient spaces and collaborating with the dispatch team.

Qualifications

• Previous stock experience is not essential.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, back-of-house retail environment.

• Pack and prepare client purchases for dispatch, including international deliveries.
• Collaborate with dispatch to ensure orders are sent on time.
• Maintain an organised, safe, efficient workspace.
• Assist with movement of luxury items throughout the store.
• Provide ad hoc operational support as needed.

Job description

We are looking for a Private Shopping Porter to join our fast-paced Private Shopping team at our iconic Knightsbridge store. As an integral part of the operation, you will support the movement, preparation and dispatch of luxury purchases, helping to keep our Private Shopping service running seamlessly behind the scenes. With varied responsibilities, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proactive mindset, strong work ethic and a desire to learn and develop as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of our Private Shopping function, helping to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly after a client purchase has been made. This is a predominantly back-of-house role, focused on the movement, handling and dispatch of luxury purchases.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating stock and product movements across Private Shopping locations
• Supporting with the processing and handling client returns efficiently and accurately
• Packing and preparing client purchases for dispatch, including international deliveries
• Working closely with our dispatch team to ensure orders are sent out correctly and on time
• Maintaining organised, safe and efficient working spaces
• Assisting with the movement of luxury items throughout the store
• Providing ad hoc operational support where required

About You

This role is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, approaches new challenges with enthusiasm and initiative, and takes pride in supporting a team behind the scenes.

Previous stock experience is not essential. Instead, we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a proactive mindset and a willingness to learn. You'll thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly and every day brings something different. As a hands-on and active role, you'll spend much of your day on the move, supporting the smooth running of our Private Shopping operation.
