Job summary

Broxtowe Borough Council is seeking two Private Sector Housing Officers to deliver licensing, enforcement, and a range of housing services. You will inspect properties, support enforcement actions, and contribute to safeguarding housing standards across the private sector.

The role requires experience in local authority private sector housing or enforcement, plus a relevant Environmental Health qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience in a local authority private sector housing setting or enforcement.
• Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health or HNC in Housing Practice (or equivalent).
• Competency in the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and enforcement of private sector housing legislation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Licensing and inspection of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO).
• Enforcement of private sector housing legislation.
• Undertaking detailed housing inspections and preparing schedules of work.
• Use of computerised software systems including Word, Excel, Outlook.
