Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to support a busy local authority enforcement team in Norfolk. The role focuses on inspections, HHSRS assessments and enforcement actions with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, maintain records, and liaise with landlords and tenants while applying housing legislation and enforcement procedures robustly.

Qualifications

• Experience with HHSRS inspections and assessments.
• Experience serving notices under Housing Act enforcement actions.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
• Excellent knowledge of housing legislation and enforcement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Undertake inspections of private sector residential properties.
• Carry out HHSRS assessments per current guidance.
• Investigate housing complaints including damp, disrepair and other hazards.
• Serve and enforce statutory notices under the Housing Act 2004.
• Prepare evidence and case files to support enforcement action.
• Conduct HMO inspections and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Liaise with landlords, tenants, managing agents and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate case records using the council's case management systems.
