Job summary

Newmedica in Leeds is seeking a Private Patient Coordinator to ensure a superb patient journey from first contact to aftercare. The role covers 24 or 32 hours per week across five days, with weekend rota and occasional travel to Harrogate and Wakefield.

You will greet patients, handle private referrals, and maintain the private patient tracker with strong administration and empathy. Ideal candidates bring customer service experience, excellent communication, and comfort with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer service role and a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Healthcare environment experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in recruitment, financial services or private healthcare sales is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to reassure and support patients in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • A good team player who is flexible and supportive.

Responsibilities

  • Be the central point of contact for all private patient telephone queries.
  • Ensure initial enquiries and referrals are dealt with within KPIs.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks such as ordering lenses and inputting data into the private patient tracker.
  • Manage a busy, varied workload with a customer-focused approach.
  • Provide empathetic support to patients throughout their journey and treatment pathway.

Role overview

We are looking for a Private Patient Coordinator to join our Leeds site. This will be either 24 or 32 hours hours over 5 days per week, including weekends on a rota basis. The ideal candidate must have flexibility to travel to Harrogate and Wakefield when required.

As Private Patient Coordinator, your role will be to ensure that all of our private patients have a fantastic experience throughout their journey with us, from first contact to the end of their treatment pathway. This will include meeting and greeting them on the day of their appointments and treatments. We aim to offer our private patients a truly personalised service and this role is key to ensuring that they feel supported by someone they know and trust.

You will be the central point of contact for all telephone queries in regard to private patients and also for ensuring all initial enquiries and referrals are dealt with within the required KPIs. You will also undertake general administrative tasks such as ordering lenses and inputting data onto the private patient tracker.

Our clinics are busy so we're looking for someone who can manage a busy and varied workload. We are looking for someone who is incredibly customer focused, with the ability to provide a first class service to patients. The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with, so you will need to have an empathetic approach and be able to put others at ease.

What skills and experience do I need?
  • Experience in a customer service role and a passion for delivering excellent service

  • Excellent administration skills
  • The ability to reassure and support patients in a healthcare setting where people may be nervous or anxious about treatment
  • Excellent computer skills. Comfortable with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new systems
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A good team player - happy to jump in and support others when required
