Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Family Solicitor with 2+ years PQE to join a leading law firm in Derby, Derbyshire. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary of £45,000 to £50,000, hybrid working with up to two days a week working remotely from home.

The successful Private Family Solicitor will manage a varied caseload of high-quality private family matters, including work for high-net-worth clients, with dedicated paralegal and legal secretarial support.

Eventus Legal are seeking a Private Family Solicitor 2 plus years PQE to join a leading law firm in Derby, Derbyshire. This is a full-time, permanent job offering a salary of £45,000 to £50,000, hybrid working with up to two days a week working remotely from home, 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays and ongoing professional development. The successful Private Family Solicitor will manage a varied caseload of high-quality private family matters, including work for high-net-worth clients, with dedicated paralegal and legal secretarial support.

Role Responsibilities

The incoming Private Family Solicitor in Derby, Derbyshire will take responsibility for a varied caseload of privately funded family matters from instruction through to conclusion. Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing an independent caseload of privately funded family matters from initial instruction through to conclusion including divorce, matrimonial finance, private children, pre and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements and domestic abuse
• Advising and representing clients in divorce, separation and relationship breakdown matters
• Handling private children matters, including applications and negotiations concerning child arrangements
• Managing financial matters arising from divorce and separation, including complex cases involving high-net-worth clients, property, pensions and other assets
• Drafting applications, statements, agreements, consent orders and other relevant family law documentation
• Conducting negotiations and working towards practical settlements where appropriate
• Preparing cases for hearings and representing clients during court proceedings where required
• Managing correspondence and liaising with clients, other solicitors, barristers and relevant third parties throughout each matter
• Maintaining accurate files, meeting court deadlines and complying with regulatory requirements and the firm's procedures
• Delivering a high standard of client care and keeping clients informed throughout their case
• Working effectively with the firm's paralegal and legal secretarial support to progress matters efficiently

Person Specification

Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors in Derby, Derbyshire with experience in privately funded family law who are confident managing their own files. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales with over 2 years PQE
• Experience managing a private family law caseload independently
• Strong experience in divorce and private children matters
• The technical ability and judgement required to handle high-quality and high-net-worth work
• Excellent communication, organisation and client-care skills
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team
